Chiang Mai Counselling and Healing Resources
When I first came to Chiang Mai I did not expect to be practising, however requests for my services resulted in my working with a range of Chiang Mai expats and visitors. In leaving I wanted to document some healing resources which visitors and expats can utilize.
An exciting new resource is Wellspring - the community guide edited by the Moon Tree Healing centre's Ellen Ward. Find out about everything from individual healers to larger scale groups, studios, and clinics... also find information about local environmentally sustainable offerings from sustainable handmade products to scenic organic restaurants; the choices are plenty! This is a great new resource and I am sure the planned Moon Tree Healing Centre will also make a wonderful contribution to the Chiang Mai community.
I would not hesitate to recommend Ellen Ward of Fluid Body Work in her own capacity as a healer. I had a great session with Ellen in which I enjoyed and benefited from her capacity to sense and see what was needed on both mental and somatic levels. She is intuitive, gentle and strong with a great sense of humour
Her friend and colleague Tameer (Healing Presence Energy Balancing)has a wealth of experience in a range of healing modalities and brings this to bear in her sessions. She has been a strong advocate for wellness in all its forms and I found the Cranial Sacral Session I had with her deeply relaxing. Tameer is skilled in a whole range of areas and draws clients from different locations aroung the globe.
Adam, the Director of the Yoga Studio in Chiang Mai, is also a master practitioner of Hakomi, a powerful and respectful form of counselling. Adam is double certified in Hakomi and attests to the impact in hjis own life. Adam has taught at the world renowed Esalen Institute in California. He is a respected member of the Chiang Mai yoga community. Contact him to book.
Faeng the owner, with John, of the Blue Pearl Yoga and Cultural Centre is another Chiang Mai based healer. The Centre offers a range of healing and yoga modalities. Faeng has been involved with several famous spas in Thailand and had trained in a range of modalites. This centre also offers the work of Byron Katie, through the facilitation of Elizabeth ( who has trained in the work). ( Sessions are held every Wednesday at 4.00pm. Elizabeth is also available for individual sessions.

Mungkala Traditional (Chinese) Medicine Clinic is well known throughout Chiang Mai and was recommended to me by a number of local expats. I was not disappointed the treatment and healing quality of the practice which combined a knowledge of both eastern and western modalities as well as suggestions about local foods that would be of benefit to me. recommended.
